ac: wow. Why are you so negative?

How do you think core developers become core developer? They start by not being core developer, but small contributor. Maybe some developers don't want any contributions (and I don't think there's a lot of developer like this), but nearly everyone would be happy to see more contributions.

> Contributing to GNOME is just a waste of time and dangerous to the health
> of those who want to contribute.

I don't know why you're saying this. If you don't like GNOME, then it's a waste of time for you. But it's not for other people. Also, why would it be "dangerous to the health"?

I'd be interested to know if you ever tried contributing to GNOME, and if this is the case, what went wrong.

Seriously, your blog entry sounds more like a joke to me. "Howto have people to contribute to GNOME", as anyone of the developers want any contribution. The best thing someone contributes is the stuff no one from the core developers want to touch (like writing documents etc.). Contributing to GNOME is just a waste of time and dangerous to the health of those who want to contribute. As if anything serious "new features", "serious things" from outsiders made it into GNOME.
