Wow! That's totally adorable and the animation is great too, such a sense of motion with so few frames.

Put this in /usr/share/gnome/panel/pixmaps and select it in the fish-applet prefs, select 8 frames and 0,3s (or longer, but the gif is with 0,3s) if you cant wait till 2.16

I like the new look, but the movement is way too busy, as #7 said. It really needs to be slowed down, and only happen occasionally. Looks like a notification state now.

The fish is one of the things I hate hate hated about old Gnome. It doesn't seem to do it any more, but back in the day the fish would *slowly* swim across your screen on top of everything else you were doing, every now and then (even though the fish wasn't even in my panel).

It was infuriating. There was no obvious process to kill, or preference to disable it, or anything else. It was just a bad joke: you've lost all control of your computer.

I would be very happy if the fish died. (There, I said it!)
